Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Carolina Optometric Eye Center, PA the leading provider of vision care products and services in Winston-Salem.

Tamara J. Williams, OD

Tamara L. Jenison Williams, O.D. was raised in the mid-Michigan area. She did her undergraduate work at Central Michigan University and Michigan State University, before continuing on with her optometry degree at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. Her clinical experience included an ocular disease rotation at the Detroit VA Medical Center and an ocular disease and low vision externship at Johns Hopkins’ Wilmer Eye Institute. She also received additional training in primary care and contact lenses at Eglin Air Force Base.

She received her Doctorate in Optometry in May 2000 with highest distinction. She was honored with the Vision Service Plan Clinical Excellence Scholarship, which was awarded to two graduates in her class. In addition, she was given the Contact Lens Achievement Award.

Dr. Tammy Williams is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society, and the American Academy of Optometry. She is involved in the Infant See program. She volunteers on a regular basis for children’s vision screenings and does occasional vision and ocular health talks. She has worked in a private practice setting for over a decade and continues to enjoy the personal touch with her patients.

Dr. Williams provides primary eye care for all ages. She provides pediatric eye exams, diabetic eye disease and glaucoma management, along with specialty contact lens fittings. She actively sees refractive surgery and cataract patients. She is accepting new patients.
